Can you use Facebook for business?
Seeing the value of using social networking for business is a tough concept for many people to grasp.
On one hand, you have people that think that social networking is simply for kids or personal use. On the other hand there are many people in small to large organizations using social media to promote events, products, services and much more. These are the early adopters or sneezers as Seth Godin would call them.
The early adopters are the ones that are going to see the most success in the future of social networking for business. These are the companies that are at the front of the bus, working toward a social future where they can interact with their customers.
Below are 6 ways that you can use Facebook for business. I hope you find them useful.
- Links are always good for you! Include a link to your website or blog from your profile. This will generate both social traffic and also link juice for all of you SEO lovers.
- What's your status? Post status updates and write on other people's wall's. This creates dialog and comments from others.
- Invite Me! Invite people to your events. Facebook has a great invitation tool. Just remember to use traditional methods of confirmation to ensure the best possible attendance.
- Become a groupie! Get involved with groups that relate to your business. When I say get involved I mean it, don't just join a group. Embed yourself in the group and post questions and comments. If you post questions, people will respond. As humans we love to feel important. :-)
- Your blog is your lifeline. Use RSS feeds to syndicate your blog on your profile. This will help get subscribers and also more traffic to your blog.
- Advertise targeted users. Facebook has some really good targeted advertising options. Everything from drilling down by location, age, interests and more.
