Do you or your company need training but cant afford it? Lets face it, training is expensive. Thats because it is a crucial element for any growing organization. It gives employees the skills that they need to increase productivity, and it makes them feel appreciated. However with the economy the way that it is today, many training budgets are being cut. So what can you do to still get the training that you need at an affordable rate? I have put together a list of some useful tips that may help.
- Do a needs assessment to find out where each employee/or department is lacking.
- Work with your existing training provider to put together a yearly plan based on volume. This can sometimes decrease the cost of training. It is best to talk with a training provider that you have a good relationship with to put together a plan.
- Try to put together some internal resources that can train people on certain applications or internal processes.
- Join low cost user groups such as ToastMasters.
- Create an internal library where employees can checkout books at designated times.
- Look at online training as an alternative to traditional training. E-leaning has become a lot better than in the past and is very affordable. Especially Web Learners ;-)
